HOT AIR CRUISE
Cruise to the Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival in Middletown
July 22, 2006

Gather ‘round ye pt people!
Some Cruisers lined up in Middletown’s Smith Park – including the Rector’s PT Chaser
(the mini-van) that may become our unofficial chase car

For the few who stayed around until evening, the balloons did indeed arrive!
Cruise the Fairborn Drive-In Movie – July 1, 2006
Gathering for dinner at the Broad Street Grille in Fairborn…

…we then cruised over to the Skyborn Drive-In Theater…

…where we had a great time. Here we waited for the movie, CARS, to start – visiting, trying to keep our view protected, and having fun.
Independence Day Parade in Fairborn – July 4, 2006

19 Cruisers line up prior to the parade
Grace Kline’s mellow dogs were a great hit with children along the parade route

Event leader Bob Riffle – yes, it rained on our parade

At one point in the parade, Kim was greeted by bowing and cheering friends who surrounded her beautiful cruiser

Along the parade route

Following the parade we found our way to Villa di Giovanni where we enjoyed some wonderful Italian food and good company

And then Rosemary’s suggestion of a group picture led to efforts to get the Cruisers
and their people lined up in a half-circle – an activity that certainly was good for some laughs!
GEM CITY PT CRUISERS 2ND ANNIVERSARY
SHOW & SHINE

These pictures, taken by Clint Young of Cincinnati Cruisers, tell much of the story of our Anniversary II event on Saturday, June 10, at the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Fourteen cruisers showed, despite the cold rain, coming from Cincinnati, Springfield, and Indiana. It was a good day, once we got inside the museum. Trophy winners were Doug Cones (Mild category), Bob/Pat Riffle (Medium category) and Mike/Dianne Pollard (Hot category).

When our Convener, Jack Smith, was in the Air National Guard approximately 100 years ago, he crew-chiefed on these two aircraft: T-33 trainer on left, F-86 on right.

Rarely does a non-PT Cruiser make it to the pages of the Gem City PT Cruisers web page,
but who can resist this Ford Model T ambu
Monday morning, May 29, 8 a.m.: Our members begin to gather at the Franklin Big Boy for the cruise to Dayton, Kentucky.
Four Gem City Cruisers cars (nine people), joined by three cars from PT BUS made the cruise, which included an unplanned tour of downtown Cincinnati.

Upon arrival, our Cruisers joined with those of our host Cincinnati Cruisers, in
decorating cars, and lining up two abreast for the Dayton/Bellevue Memorial Day Parade. Following the parade we adjourned to a great riverfront restaurant to
enjoy good food and good friends.
A few of us cruised to Cincinnati to join some of the Cincinnati Cruisers for their tour
of the American Sign Museum - March 25, '06 - and yes, it is snowing!
